Join our campaign! The 2023 Annual Campaign of the Network “A roadmap to end FGM” will seek to answer these questions by showcasing examples and first-hand experiences of promising practices to tackle FGM in Europe. It will be based on the Network’s mapping of FGM laws and policies in Europe as well as individual stories of people who are involved in the movement to end FGM or affected by the practice. Read more

European Parliament and Council Reach Agreement on Directive to Combat Violence Against Women: A Step Forward with Room for Improvement

On February 6th, 2024, amidst the observance of the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), a significant development unfolded in the European Parliament and The Council. After much anticipation, a political agreement was reached on a directive aimed at combating violence against women and domestic violence (referred to as "The Directive").

Who we are

The End FGM European Network (End FGM EU) is a European umbrella network of 39 organisations working to ensure sustainable European action to end Female Genital Mutilation.

The Network strives to build bridges and cooperation’s with all relevant actors in the field of FGM both in Europe and globally. Platforming community voices to influence European governments and policy makers to work towards the elimination of FGM.

End FGM EU operates as a meeting ground for communities, NGOs, CSOs and EU level stakeholders to engage, interact and cooperate with one another by sharing experiences and exchanging knowledge. Through these exchanges, the Network pinpoints key areas in need of attention and address that can further develop the efforts to end FGM whilst securing opportunities for Members’ to best support them in their work.
